The Abyss that is JD Drew

Well we always knew this bastard would haunt us, never really a doubt, never really any good times. At least Matt Clement went 8-0 to start off his dreadful term with the Sox.

This series was certainly not fun to watch, not that I watched it, I listened to it. A couple of things stand out....Joba Chamberlain has officially arrived & J. Damon still has a flair for the dramatic.

And who the hell scheduled this series in the middle of the week?

Regarding our diminshing division lead of 5 games, I don't think there's any question we will barely snake out the division, but seeing the Yankees in the playoffs with our bats this dead would be quite scary. Dice-K and Beckett clearly aren't pitching in a dominant fashion (which is what got us here in the first place)

But what this all proves is that Manny, not Schilling, is the heart of this team. With him out we really are an average at best line-up.

Nothing says "intimidation" like a one hundred mile per hour fastball thrown at your fucking head. Or how about 2 fastballs thrown at your fucking head. Out of the way Red Sox. No painted socks this year, no crying and gay ass cowboy up bullshit. Just your defeat!!!

A suspicious lack of activity here at Bartles and James as The New York Yankees win the first two of three against The Boston Red Sox. I will have a full recap after tomorrow's game. Or better yet, after I get out of work tomorrow and watch the replay of tomorrow's game. If this is a preview of the playoffs I am enjoying what I am seeing. When The New York Yankees get into a short series they are dangerous. Three solid starters and a fucking devastating 8th /9th inning combo... Joba is a fucking serious threat. o.oo era in 12 appearances, reminds me of a young Mariano, back when he was an 8th inning setup man- remember when??? Strive to win the east- and pay no attention as you get the wild card...

Easy come, Easy Go.

Little high, Little Low.

That clicking sound you're hearing is the all the tv's of Yankees fans turning off. A sweep this week in the bronx would end this nice and quickly...however I'd be a moron to to believe that's going to happen. Even when the Yankees are horrible they manage to keep it interesting, that impressive.

6.5 back.......hit me where the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me.....to me.

SOX AND YANKS LOSE DAYGAMES: Northeast bummed

Wow, crazy comebacks, or non-comebacks that is. What a bizarre afternoon. The poster children for both teams, Manny and Sandman don't come thru in the clutch today.

Scientists say Satan Fish have healing powers

Funny how just a few games up against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays will really make you feel like you're a winner. Right Yankees fans? It seems like only a couple of days ago the Red Sox were in bad shape with a month and a half to go. Got to love that bullpen of theirs and you got to hate Kazmir, that guy freaking owns us! You know who else owns us? Bedard of the Orioles.....the Yanks get him 2nite.

There is a five letter word that Red Sox Nation used a lot in 2004, and rightfully so, after that amazing comeback against the New York Yankees. It's still only mid- August so I will give The Red Sox the first letter in this word and we will fill in the blanks from there. C_ _ _ _ ... Anyways, Yankees sweep Cleveland. Everybody hits. ARod homers twice Saturday night. giambi homers sat and sun. YAWWWWWWWWWN!!! Let's get to the end of the season already... Let's get to the match up we've all been waiting for. AL East might be all tied up by the 28th, Sox could even be in second place by the 28th. Those three games might mean somebodies whole season...

I can't stand working while I know there are these great games going on. The numbers change every fucking day, and slowly but surely the Yankees are coming out ON TOP!!! And Saturday is a 7pm game, which means i will be off work and into a good buzz for this one... Joba Chamberlin and Shelley Duncan are exactly what this team needed to win this year. Did i mention that Giambi is back???

We have every right to be scared Sox fans

Hey Kids!

Well the Yanks are scoring about 10 runs per game (like they should have been doing all year!). And the Sox have been scoring about 2 runs per game, nothing new there. The good news is the schedule gets a little tough for the Yanks, not that much tougher but they won't be playing Tampa and KC the entire season.

But hey at least they are making things interesting!

Brother Bartles is in a tizzy right now over A-Rod, you know what? I fucking hate John Sterling that's what. That 500th HR call was the most annoying radio call I'd heard since that cranky old lady announced Clemens was coming back.

6 games left head to head, this is getting very exciting.

6.5/ 0.0 - at least for the next couple of hours. a month ago there was no fucking way to see this coming. that is a shitload of ground to make up. and now the real test comes over the next couple of weeks. Mariano looked sick in the ninth striking out rios and wells and thomas. this season just gets better and better...

matsui is a fucking monster

getting back into this Bartles and James thing...

what else can you say about the world's greatest living ballplayer??? sometimes just sit back and enjoy the view. finally 500, (finally.... at 32) and the Yankees continue their daily batting practice against the al central. who needs pitching when you can score 17 or 18 runs everyday??? (don't answer that, i know the appropriate responses) and yes, the wild card is good enough. it'll have to be unless i finally get to see that Red Sox/Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash i've been dreaming of since 2004... and stay tuned because i'm getting back into getting back into you.

it's going to be a fight 'till the death for the wild card. i just don't see that usual boston self doubt, where they will their own demise. this year is too much of a high. but cleveland, on the other hand, does not have a shot of holding a two game wild card lead. or any other team. not against the yankees, a team that is having batting practice against every starter in the al central...
